#28 Let them go

As you know, Iā€™m launching a new branch in the company in a couple of months. Iā€™m afraid that some collaborators wonā€™t be fully involved in it, and now more than ever I need their full implication and energy.
So much has changed since Covid-19 hit, and Iā€™ve noticed thatĀ some have come back to work with new questions and aspirations, reassessing the way they live, the work they doā€¦Ā Iā€˜m even worried that I might lose some of them who are reconsidering their place in our company, even those who have no specific qualms with us but who simply want to try something else.
I need you to lead a short intervention for me with my team to give them that little boost they need and to lift their spirits, but without really coaching themā€¦Ā Ā 

- What do you mean?Ā 

- The thing is, I know you, youā€™ve coached me. I know that If you coach them on re-aligning themselves with who they are, some of them could leave sooner than expected/desired/what Iā€™m ready to deal withā€¦Ā

#6 - The 6 attributes of Sleeping Beauties

There are certain people who reveal themselves ONLY in demanding situations.
Surprisingly enough, you sometimes find them occupying safe and sustainable positions, in a slow-paced company for years ā€“ sometimes decades ā€“ Ā taking the path of security.
I would know, I work regularly with some of them.

The problem is that they are not frequently challenged. They are not flirting with the ā€œedge of the cliff,ā€ and over the years they end up appreciating the softness of that ā€œself-killing-comfortā€.
After years of leading successful and smooth professional journeys, they end up calling on me, intent on soul-searching, without a clue as to what could be wrong with them. They are looking for that missing piece, and for their true fulfillment.

I call them ā€œSleeping Beautiesā€.
Sleeping Beauties are:

  1. Doing OKAYā€¦ They sometimes feel bored, but they believe itā€™s normal.
